And it begins again…

This time with a look at my image in the mirror and a struggle to fasten my corduroy pants! Same eating plan, but more motivation and NO maternal sabotage! I hope. O ya, and this round I might even do some exercise!

Let’s revisit the reasons why yours charmingly (that’s ME, by the way!) wants to gain slim:

  • I shall have less pain in my pelvic and knee joints and won’t twist my ankles that often.
  • I’ll fit into sexy, fashionable clothes - even be able to wear a dress without looking pregnant!
  • My skin will improve - less pimples, less hair.
  • I won’t be out of breath so often
  • I’ll be attractive to members of the opposite gender
  • I’ll be confident in front of a camera and on stage!
  • I shall have normal, stable blood sugar levels.
  • I shall be a good ambassador for a company that focuses on health and wellness.
  • I will get in and out of cars and chairs much easier.
  • I shall have acquired healthy, balanced eating habits.

Once again, I’ll go the HealthPointe route. Religiously. Steps and all. And with a good record-keeping system and decent rewards!

Watch this space!

Why?
Posted by Lady Hooligan at 7:05 pm in Token Pinky

Actually very simple.  Price!

For a third of the price of a flat in town (which may or not be safe!), I can not only buy me a decent-sized house on a small bit of land (which I can actually garden if I wish!) but also keep my cats and my privacy. That alone is worth it!

The Group Areas Act was abolished quite some time ago, and many black people moved into previously “white” town areas.  It might be interesting to find out what would happen if the opposite happened…

When I first told people about my plans to purchase a little house in a township around Rustenburg, I was amazed by the responses.  The white people are all concerned about my safety, while the black people are chuffed to bits at the thought of a “pinky” moving into their neighbourhood.  In fact, a colleague went so far as to tell me that if I do that, I would be treated like royalty!  Their concerns (if they had any) where regarding muddy yards (not much gardening in townships) and paying municipal debts of previous inhabitants.

Anyway, at the time of this entry, it’s still merely an idea.  However, I’m sure as time goes by, the idea would get shape and probably even realise!  And if THAT happens, this blog might even become the basis of a book!

You never know…

The Lady Hooligan on Being Excluded
Posted by Lady Hooligan at 3:24 pm in Thoughts

There is a reason why the Lady Hooligan has decided to join AMWAY.  Yes, the company is sound, the products are excellent and the Network21 Support System is absolutely amazing.  But the trigger to make her sign the application form (”Press hard - there’re four copies!”) was something totally different.

You see, the Lady Hooligan absolutely HATES being excluded on matters that involve her.  If you want to implement something that affects her directly and simply forget to consult with her to at least get her opinion, there will be hell to pay afterwards!  And that - coming from the Lady Hooligan - is not merely a promise, but an iron-clad guarantee!

What the Lady Hooligan expects, isn’t that much.  Just that she be considered in the decisions that affect her.  Unfortunately, as with all big burocracies, that isn’t an option when the bosses above make their decisions, with the result that the Lady Hooligan feels increasingly frustrated and resentful in her current position.

What will she do about all this?  She will work seriously on the Health and Wellness aspects of her business, in order to draw in others that see the changes in her.  She’ll market who she is honestly and without any hesitation and with some guts invite her circle of acquaintances along for the ride.  One never knows…
