Decisions…

It has been decided…

The four most influential words in the English language…  And yours charmingly made them happen!

Today, Monday, 21 July 2008 is the turning point in my career here at the library…  I’m seriously fed up with the whole aura of the place, the negative colleagues and the demands of the public.

The question remains… Should I call it quits while I’m still relatively cool, calm and collected, or should I wait until the excrement really hits the cooling device?  And what will I be doing when I go?  Will I have enough money to survive on for at least 6 months if I resign?  And will I have the gumption to make the calls that count? (That last one is the REAL question…)

And will I go?  Where to? Will I rent me a place and buy the necessary stuff…?  I have no idea… So maybe I should think a little more, before I decide…

Becoming a Mrs and a Mommy (in any order!)
Posted by admin at 2:44 pm in Dreams

For once in my life, I would not mind being a Mrs at all… I have finally found a Mr that I want to share the rest of my life with… The only problem with this being that the Mr in question does not display any mutual affection… So we’ll see!

In the meantime, I’ll stick to my two kitty sons and doggy daughter… ;-)

Introducing the Lady Hooligan
Posted by admin at 8:17 am in Lady Hooligan

This is the very first post of many to come, all documenting the Lady Hooligan’s thoughts on various topics. Since they ARE the Lady Hooligan’s thoughts, however, they will probably be unique, provocative and maybe even upsetting to those who go through life in blinkers. That is the whole idea.

The name – Lady Hooligan – has its origins as a chat nickname. It was chosen because of its inherent contrast: part sophisticated, part wild thing. As time went by, the Lady H took on a personality of her own. Irreverent, provocative, outspoken and a touch below the belt are just some phrases used to describe her. She has become a useful alter ego for when life becomes too complicated for one person to try and figure out, or for when the pain of living and loving becomes too much to bear alone.

She’s over-the-top and totally extravagant in everything she does, but once in a while she may have some wisdom to share, or simply shed light on some old issues from a totally different angle, causing people to pause and think.

Causing people to pause and think is half of what she has always aimed for. The rest of her life goal is to get people to define themselves and set out on their own life journeys towards a world shaped around their hopes and dreams, as opposed to around their fear and pain. At the same time, she steers deftly away from “what is” and towards “what could be” on this planet and in people’s lives. She firmly believes that life is too short to expend unnecessary energy on negative experiences and on being a clone of everyone else.

Escapism? YES! Dreams? Totally so! Can it be real? Why not?

This life is a journey. Buckle up! Let’s go!
